Joy Cookies!

festive christmas cookies tis the season!

suga suga suga!

Sugar is what makes cookies sweet and taste good. without sugar, cookies wouldn"t be cookies. for people with a sweet tooth cookies are key. The two main types of sugars that are used in almost all cookie reciepes are brown sugar and white sugar. the differences between white sugar and brown sugar is the presence of molasses. brown sugar has a distinctive flavor, different from white sugar. In some cookies you only use white sugar like sugar cookies and some chocolate chip cookies. for making joy cookies, In a large bowl add 2 cups of white sugar.then add 3/4s cup brown sugar. slowly mix together for 5-7 minutes.

butter and eggs

for joy cookies the recipie is a little different then normal cookies. 9 table spoons of soften butter. 3 eggs in a large bowl separated from the dry ingredients. beat the eggs first and slowly add them to the soften butter. add 2 table spoons of vanilla and wisk it together. once it settles add the dry ingredients.

the power of flower

Dealing with flower when it comes to cookies you must be persis becasue if u add to much flower, the cookies get dry. If you dont add enough flower, the cookies get thin like a chip. for joy cookies you add 2 cups of flower and 1 teaspoon baking soda. mix on low speed for 2-3 minutes. add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients bowl and mix together on low spped increasingly going up a speed every 3 minutes

refrigeration and pre heating

refrigerate your mix for about 2-3 hours. Chilling cookie dough before baking solidifies the fat in the cookies. As the cookies bake, the fat in the chilled cookie dough takes longer to melt than room-temperature fat. And the longer the fat remains solid, the less cookies spread. preheat the oven to 350.

baking and eating!

after the cookies come out of the refrigerater make sure your oven is ready and preheated. roll medium size balls of cookies dough and spreed on a baking pan. put a none stick spray of parshment paper down on the pan before adding the cookie dough. make about 6-9 on each tray. make sure they are spred out so they dont stick together while baking. after putting them in set a timer for 12-15 minutes. let them cool for 5-10 minutes after cooking and then dig in! your can frost the cookies or eat them plan both are fantastic.
